Why do the insurgents attack innocent civilians instead of the oil refinery which is our only interest there?

You show your bias and ignorance by saying that the oil refineries are our only interest there. But to answer your question, they do attack oil assets, as well as electrical plants or any other development which strengthens the Iraqi people and government.Why do the insurgents attack innocent civilians instead of the oil refinery which is our only interest there?
My guess is, by attacking public areas with lots of bystanders, they send a message to both fighting troops, the government, and the people that 1. they are willing to sacrifice ';a few'; for their overall goal, and 2. they have no problem punishing anyone that may not be for their cause. You also have to take into account that in areas such as Iraq, there is a centuries old tribal war going on along with the one America is fighting. Everyone thinks they are right and everyone wants power, and attacks in various neighborhoods is just another way to subdue certain groups through fear.Why do the insurgents attack innocent civilians instead of the oil refinery which is our only interest there?
because oil is our only interest there, oil refineries are protected 24/7 by our troops. even a fly couldn't get through. there is no way that the troops will let any iraqi near the refineries
because by killing civilians they dont haev to fight us, who dominate them





blowing up cars is alot easier than fighting a soldier
Because they only want to kill.
Cause they aren't just fighting the US, they are fighting all those who support this war.
because if they do, they will lose the only source of income in their country.
Because they are cowards that hide behind Shields of flesh and blood thinking the innocent ones will protect them long enough to give them retreat and recoup time. all cowards will do that. They send their cowards out to fight in a mans war.
